1. Service Description
Strux Labs ("the Service") is an AI-powered academic intelligence platform designed for students with ADHD. The Service:
- Aggregates assignments from Learning Management Systems (PowerSchool, Schoology)
- Applies AI analysis for content prioritization and summarization
- Generates personalized task lists with gamification features
- Provides progress tracking and parent collaboration tools
2. User Eligibility
The Service is designed for:
- Middle and high school students (grades 6-12)
- Parents and guardians of eligible students
- Educators and educational institutions
Users under 13 require parental consent and are subject to additional COPPA protections.
3. Data Collection and Use
We collect the following types of data to provide our Service:
- Academic Data: Assignments, grades, course content, and materials from connected school systems
- Account Information: Name, email, school affiliation, and account credentials
- Usage Analytics: Interaction data to improve Service functionality
- Gamification Metrics: XP earned, achievements unlocked, streak data
4. AI Processing
The Service uses artificial intelligence to analyze academic content:
- AI providers include OpenAI (GPT-4) and Anthropic (Claude)
- AI is used for content classification, prioritization, and summarization
- Contractual restrictions prevent AI providers from using student data for model training
- AI-generated content is clearly labeled and subject to human review
5. Privacy and Compliance
We are committed to protecting student privacy:
- FERPA: We operate as a "School Official" under FERPA, with data use limited to legitimate educational purposes
- COPPA: Users under 13 receive enhanced protections including verifiable parental consent
- No Marketing: Student data is never used for marketing or behavioral targeting
- Educational Purpose Only: All data use is restricted to providing educational services
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures:
- TLS encryption for all data in transit
- Encryption at rest for stored data
- Role-based access control (RBAC)
- Multi-factor authentication options
- JWT tokens with secure session management
- Regular security audits and penetration testing
7. User Responsibilities
Users agree to:
- Provide accurate account information
- Maintain the security of their login credentials
- Use the Service only for legitimate educational purposes
- Not attempt to circumvent security measures
- Report any security vulnerabilities discovered
8. Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated content
- We are not responsible for academic outcomes
- Service availability is subject to factors beyond our control
- Liability is capped at the greater of $100 or amounts paid in the preceding 12 months
9. Data Deletion
Users may request deletion of their data:
- Deletion requests will be processed within 60 days
- Backups will be purged within 30 days of primary deletion
- Some data may be retained for legal compliance purposes

10. Dispute Resolution
Disputes will be resolved through:
- Informal resolution attempts (30-day good faith negotiation period)
- Binding arbitration through the American Arbitration Association (AAA) if informal resolution fails

We may update these terms periodically. Users will be notified of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after notification constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
